Holidays: Positano

Positano is a small town of about 3.860 inhabitants in Campania, in the province of Salerno.

It is in the very heart of the Amalfi Coast, and it is one of the best tourist places in Italy.

Its origins are very old. It could be founded by a group of refugees coming from Paestum.

Positano is an art work, a joy for the eyes and the heart, and, walking through the narrow streets of the historical centre, you will find many surprises.

The main building of the village is the Church of St. Maria Assunta, with baroque style and a beautiful dome decorated with colorful majolica.

Nearby the Church it is possible to see the remains of an ancient roman villa and, going down to the port, it is possible to see the Amalfi coast, with some Saracene towers.
